Nikon 5000 vs Nikon 9000
There are some misconceptions floating around online that having your slides and negatives scanned on a Nikon 9000 is better than if you have your slides scanned on a Nikon 5000- but it's false!

The Nikon 5000 scanner was built to scan 35mm film, or film that is in a 2"x2" mount such as 126 format slide and 110 format slide.
The Nikon 9000 scanner was built to scan film sizes LARGER than the standard 2"x2" mounted film. The Nikon 9000 can accommodate the 35mm slide, but it was intended for 127 format slides, 120/220 medium format film and speciality film.
Kodachrome Scanning Example
As long as the scanner settings are correctly set up and the right settings for Digital Ice are applied, you will not see the digital ice distortion, as some claim will happen with a Nikon 5000. Digital Ice is a wonderful feature that removes dust, finger prints and scratches from film. At Larsen Digital, we have knowledgeable staff that knows how to apply software corrections to your scanned images.
